Discover the experience
Karnak grew like a city of stone: each generation of rulers left a court, a gateway, an obelisk or a chapel within the sanctuary of Amun. In the Great Hypostyle Hall, 134 columns still turn a walk into an encounter with ancient scale. Yet these temples were places of movement as well as monuments. During the Opet festival, sacred images left Karnak in a great procession to Luxor Temple, linking the god’s sanctuary with the renewal of royal authority. Follow that connection and the two temples become chapters of one story.
